Our first recital as Independence School of Music was a great success. Over the past few weeks the excitement at the studio has been building as our teachers prepared the students for this first Independence School of Music recital. I am sure the parents have noticed an increase in practice and interest by the students.
The past few days, some of the very young girls could hardly wait to tell us that they have already picked out their recital dress..
For many of our students, this was their first musical recital ever. This Independence Music recital represents not only a milestone for Independence School of Music but also a stepping stone in the musical education of our students.
I want to thank all of the parents and especially our teachers who have put up with a lot of confusion and many changes since I opened our new facility. Without the teachers, we would not be here today. After the students performed their recital pieces, three of our teachers demonstrated how beautiful and interesting their instruments can be played. Gwen Thomas her violin, Derek Rohr played piano and Erik Roszak play drums. Erik also gave an interesting mini-class on rhythm.
