  • Cuyahoga Heights Music Lessons

Congratulations to residents of Cuyahoga Heights, their community leadership, and their school music departments for once again being named as a leading community that supports music education.  Cuyahoga Heights is one of only four Cleveland area communities to be awarded the prestigious membership in the “Best 100 Communities for Music Education in America 2007”  by the national American Music Conference (AMC).. The list represents an annual snapshot of music education at its best. It is based on a nationwide survey conducted by AMC and several partner organizations in the fields of music and education

Achieving this honor testifies to the support that the music education program has from the teachers, administration, parents, and the community.  The Cuyahoga Heights School district.  The Cuyahoga Heights School District offers a general music curriculum to all grade levels in the district. Students can begin an instrumental strings program in grade 4.

Other Ohio school districts named to the 2007 “Best 100” list are Berea City School District, Canfield Local School District, Cuyahoga Heights City School District, Manchester Local Schools, Olmsted Falls City Schools and Perrysburg Exempted Village School District.

I talked with some of the parents from Cuyahoga Heights whose children study music here at Independence School of Music.  They tell me that the music program in Cuyahoga Heights is excellent.  To learn more go to the Cuyahoga Heights High School Music website
